Do you need a CDL to drive a hauler truck in Missouri?
For personal use, no. Missouri exempts recreational and personal-use vehicles from CDL requirements, so your regular Class F license covers a personal hauler regardless of the truck’s weight — one of the easier states in that respect. A CDL only comes into play if you’re using the truck commercially.
That makes Missouri a lot simpler than a state like Texas or California, where heavier trucks cross into an upgraded non-commercial license. Always confirm your specific situation with the Missouri Department of Revenue.
