From the water — spectators raft up in the no-wake “flotilla” zones along the course (free; bring your own boat). No-wake zones run roughly 7:30am–6:30pm on race days.
From land — shoreline viewing at the host venue, Dog Days Bar & Grill.
About This Event
It’s the deep, chest-thumping note of a blown big-block at full song across open water. It’s the world’s largest unsanctioned boat race, and for two days at the end of August the Lake of the Ozarks turns into the fastest stretch of water in the country. Premium & Exotic will be there for the 38th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.
One boat, one run, one clock. The country’s quickest offshore and performance powerboats line up at Dog Days Bar & Grill and chase 200-plus mph against the timing gun, while a flotilla of thousands rafts up along the course to watch. A nonprofit charity event at its core, the Shootout pours its proceeds back into local first responders and community causes — Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026.
